I hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University and worked as a Principal Manufacturing Engineer for a local medical device company for many years. A native of Los Angeles CA. My relationship with sports such as swimming, tennis, and various martial arts started at an early age.
After working in the high stress environment of Silicon Valley, I decided to get married, change jobs and moved to Durham in 2006 settling into life of zero physical activity. After being involved in a serious car accident and learning that my cholesterol was at extraordinarily “high risk” levels, I decided to look for an alternative to get healthy and discovered CrossFit. Six months later, I was given a clean bill of health.
Early on during my CrossFit journey I recognized the importance of stretching and proper movement patterns in preventing injuries. My main goal as a coach is to safeguard the health and longevity of each athlete by enforcing proper technique, in a fun and encouraging way.
